Swim-A-Cross 2009

This event is open to any person who wishes to promote American Red Cross. The purpose of this swim is to
raise monies for various programs conducted through the Sullivan Trail Chapter American Red Cross.

Swim-A-Cross 2009 Instructions

1. How can I help support Sullivan Trail Chapter American Red Cross? By getting pledges for each 25 yards that you swim, walk or float, or by getting a one time pledge from a sponsor.

2. How can I participate? Pick up sponsor forms from the Chapter House, 011 Stowell St., Elmira, NY 14901, here online or from your local high school. Ask your family, friends, neighbors and business people. They may sponsor you by pledging a set amount per 25 yards that you complete or by giving a one time donation.

3. How do I participate? On the day of the event, go to your swimming facility, give your pledge from to the Swim-A-Thon registrar and swim, walk or float your laps. Specific times and pools for swimming are listed above.

4. When do I collect my pledges? Start collecting the one time donations at the time the person makes the pledge and the per yard donations as soon as you complete your laps. Show your sponsor your verified pledge form. Checks should be made out to the Sullivan Trail Red Cross. After you have collected your pledges, bring your pledge form and collected money to the Swim-A-Cross Coordinator for your area (see pool location above) no later than May 10, 2009.

5. All swimmers should swim in the pool nearest their location.

6. All swimmers will need to be out of the pool facility by the end time for that facility.

7. All pool rules and regulations will be strictly adhered to, including maximum number of bathers.

8. Swimmers will be allowed to enter the pool on a first come first swim basis.

9. All swimmers will be required to sign a waiver and release form (see sample below) before entering a pool.
